grey grey

A joint study by Georgia Hutchison and Luca Lana observes the aesthetics present in controlled civic spaces. Three new works made in conjunction aim to define an identifiable language of systems control in public space.

The objects by which we will be defined, those which are contemporaneous and defining are the minutiae tactile fixtures and control measures: council painted, anonymously designed and manually installed. The designed neutrality of these objects offers a public good — activated spaces and risk-free edges. — the 50% grey, the riskless the non-offensive homogenizing space.
